It happens all the time … had a call from a customer yesterday, they were looking for a particular part but had been told by the manufacturer that it was obsolete – yet we still listed it in our catalog … how could that be? We have roughly 14,000 unique parts in our inventory and we keep a sample of almost every one of them on the chance that some day we will need it for a prototype. We aren’t going to make just one of some obscure part for a one of a kind horn, but if our customers need something and there is a demand they can count on us to get the job done because that is what we are here to do. So, when you hear “obsolete” don’t be afraid to ask if there is a chance it will rise from the dead as an Allied part. (And that is our Halloween hook! ;))
We understand that change isn’t easy … that’s why when we chose an option for our online flip book catalog we chose one that might be able to mimic some of the things we know you do with our catalog. You can bookmark pages, you can make notes, you can copy pages, all things you are probably doing with your paper catalog. Do you have your customer number written on your paper catalog? Add it to your flipbook catalog with a note! See the screenshot below for tips on how to add notes.
As all professionals in the music industry know prices can and do fluctuate – A LOT! Many of our vendors have set times of the year that they increase prices, others seem to change with the weather … the timing and rate of increase are completely out of our control. As stated in our catalog and on nearly every page of our printed price book, “Prices subject to change”. Please, if you are quoting a repair CALL for pricing first! Our customer service reps are glad to quote you a price on any part at any time. If you send in orders via fax or email and need pricing before the order is placed just let us know, we will make sure you have a firm quote in hand before the order goes to our warehouse. Of course if you get a part and the pricing has changed too dramatically to go ahead with the repair our return policies are fair but we can save time and money for everyone by minimizing returns when possible.
In response to our customer that replied, “Please make it easier to find a part number in the catalog! Sometimes I need to backwards reference my part numbers, this would be a huge help!”
In the upper right corner of the flip book catalog you will see a small search box (quickly get to that box by hitting CTRL+F) … enter your part number or keyword in that box, hit enter and on the left side of your screen all potential matches for your search term will show in a “screenshot” list, choose the page you would like to go to and you will see your search term highlighted within the page.
Alternatively the left side of the screen will always contain a thumbnail tab and a search tab … Happy searching!!
Our catalog is now available in a new flipbook format. This interface will allow you to search the entire catalog by page number or by key word, or browse the catalog via thumbnails. You can also translate, cut, print and download pages or whole sections, add bookmarks and make notes! Your password is the SAME to access the flipbook as it was to access the PDF files!
