Ordering … expedited!

Did you know … the FASTEST way to get your order processed aside from calling is via email? And the best way to send your order is to use: customerorder@alliedsupplycorp.com

That address goes to a shared box within our order team and the first available person will process it. During these challenging times our team members are multi-tasking and filling in all over the building, using this shared box helps get your order processed as quickly as possible! And remember, most orders received without plating before 2pm central time are shipped the same day. (And yes, we are still working on on-line ordering, 13,000+ parts a wee bit of work.)

Security & payment options

A friendly but *critical* reminder – we cannot protect your private information more than you can protect yourself! You should never, (and we mean never, ever) send a full credit card number, expiration date or security code via email. The last four digits are fine, but never more than that to anyone – not your most trusted vendors (that’d be us) or even your family. Email is the equivalent of a postcard in the mail – anyone with the technology along the way can look at it. If you have an expired card or wish to add a new card to your account you must call in during regular business hours, if you can’t reach us leave a message. You can also choose to use PayPal, this QR code is included on all of our invoices – or scan here. You must include your account number, invoice or order number on all payments!

Shipping Costs

Some of our customers are seeing large shipping cost increases in the new year. We wanted to let you know, we have noticed and WE FEEL YOUR PAIN! This has nothing to do with Allied Supply procedures and everything to do with the small parcel carriers. UPS and other parcel carriers have instituted several charges that are negatively impacting our customers. In addition to the usual $5 residential and $7 fuel surcharges we are now seeing far more “delivery area surcharges” which usually add another $5 after the fact when we get our bill, add in “surge pricing” and the impact is skyrocketing costs! This combined in many cases with “dimensional weight” can dramatically increase the cost of shipping a very lightweight package – especially for cork boxes. Trust us when we tell you, we are trying but these practices are hurting all of us. Recently a 152 case went out to a tech in a 45″ box, because of the size of the box “dim weight” pushed the billed weight to 146 pounds. In transit, they audited the package and claimed the 45″ box bulged to 47″ (with a rigid case inside). Our integrated UPS programming charged just over $67 on our customer’s invoice, then UPS billed us for an additional $120 large package residential surcharge.

We are working with carriers, and within our own processes every day to try to reduce costs, but when one carrier prices up they all seem to follow. (We’re sure that is just a coincidence. 😉 ) We are exploring every option available including shipping more packages via USPS. As always, unless you indicate a preference we will always use our best judgment for affordable shipping for each of your parcels – that used to be UPS – but now may be any carrier. We all experienced shipping slow downs and delays around the holidays and expect that slow will be another “new normal”. Affordable shipping might add a couple of days to shipping time, please be patient. As always, if time is critical please indicate that at the time of your order.

Please help us keep costs low, if you are a considered a residential delivery we always need to know that, if your zip code or address changes in any way let us know (we will be charged $16 for a change like that after it ships).

2020 was a year of many twists and turns, Covid and other for us here at Allied Supply. We welcomed some new faces, and had to say goodbye to some old ones. Today we say farewell to Craig Anderson after 28 years he will begin enjoying his retirement with his wife Bonnie, his son, and grandkids in the Arizona sunshine.

Thanks for everything, Craig, we will miss your striped shirts, your puns, bagel and pi day, of course your professional expertise, but most of all your friendship. You know where to find us when you get back to the frozen tundra! Godspeed into your new life where every day is a vacation day!

Insider tip – we are picking and shipping orders today, and if you get your (domestic) order in to us within the next couple of hours (with no plating) it will probably ship TODAY.  We can’t promise international can ship today, or anything after noon central time but we thought you might like to know.  🙂

Shipping & RECEIVING

We want to ship lots of orders, but first we want to make sure you will get them! Every day we are getting packages back from shops that the carrier says were unavailable for delivery. This varies from city to city, and state to state, (and don’t get us started on international!). We will ship wherever you tell us to but it is your responsibility to make sure the carrier will still deliver to your location. Many drivers (and even our own postal carrier) are following the directives of their dispatch centers to not deliver, so it falls on YOU to make sure they will bring your package to your door. We suggest you CALL the carriers to verify this before you place your order. We understand this is challenging and have been dealing with it on our inbound as well.  When we ship your orders we are under the assumption that you have completed this step and we are not responsible for the packages once they leave our doors. If packages are returned we will charge for re-shipping. So please, call your carriers and make sure we can get your packages to you, before you place your order.  THANK YOU

Payments

In an effort to reduce the handling of mail and paper checks we want to encourage our customers to pay for their orders with credit or debit cards. We accept PayPal and all major cards, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.  We can take the card number at the time of your order OR you can call a card in to pay off your open account (and potentially get another 30 days interest free!).  We never pass along any processing fees to our customers, and maybe you can get miles/reward points too.  As a reminder, for your security you should never email credit card information.  We are working with our bank to add additional ACH payment options and will keep you posted.
